In 2002 Coca-Cola launched a new drink for adults who have a small ‘energy dip’ during the working day. It’s packed with healthy energy from fruits, revitalizing vitamins, and natural caffeine from green coffee beans.
Remarkable created name proposals in 4 distinct directions: coastal feeling, surf style, fun & joy and master thrills. Coca-Cola chose to elaborate the surf style direction for the brand creation and image. The surf atmosphere evokes a sense of freedom and of living on the edge, full of big-wave energy. Nalu is a Hawaiian word referring to the surfing motion or the foaming of a wave.
This energizing Coca-Cola brand brings a sense of enjoyment and a physical lift during challenging situations, just like the thrill of riding big waves. Nalu drinkers can escape mentally for a while, returning refreshed and ready to get started again.
Beside the brand name Nalu, Remarkable was also responsible for the name creation of the brands Aquana, Frutonic and Fanta Sapaya for Coca-Cola. The new Coca-Cola headquarters in Anderlecht also received the name ‘The Bridge’ after a BrandStorm session with Remarkable.Back to overview
