Futerro

The bioplastic future

In 2007, Total Petrochemicals and Galactic created a joint venture to develop a production technology for PolyLactic Acid (PLA), bioplastics of renewable vegetable origin. The new brand needed to be in line with new generations’ increased environmental awareness.

Futerro is a blend of ‘future’ and ‘terro’, derived from the Latin ‘terra’ (earth). It refers to the fact that we hold our planet’s future in our own hands and should start living in a more environmentally responsible way. The ‘natural waves’ of the Futerro logo symbolize a natural production process. The attractive name and well-balanced logo give a clear indication of the new joint venture’s core business.
