The energetic flow of natural gas

Distrigas is the Belgian natural gas company. In November 2001, the decision was taken to separate its two principal activities into individual companies. It was clear the new company for gas trade should take over the existing company name. For the organization taking over the gas transport, a new name had to be created.

Fluxys is a classic name with a wide appeal. The first syllable not only evokes the flux of natural gas, the core business of the company, but also breathes dynamism and speed. The second refers to the system behind Fluxys. This is the central nervous system that comprises both the natural gas infrastructure and the information and communication technology that manages the gas flow within the network.
